In September 2024, Batball Uganda Limited entered a four-year partnership with the Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) to rejuvenate youth cricket development across the country. This collaboration integrates Batball's dynamic tournament structure with UCA’s Schools Development Program, aiming to identify, nurture, and showcase emerging cricket talent nationwide.

The Batball Development Pathway

Batball's structured approach to talent development comprises three progressive stages:

• Batball Open: A regional tournament that brings together promising young cricketers from all corners of Uganda, offering them a crucial platform to demonstrate their talent.

• Batball X: An inter-regional tournament where the top teams from the Batball Open clash for even greater glory. Only the best of the best advance to this stage.

• Batball Maxx: The pinnacle of the program, this prestigious T-20 franchised format competition features the top performers from the previous stages alongside established national and international cricketers. Here, young talent has the invaluable opportunity to learn from and compete with cricketing icons.

This comprehensive pathway not only fosters competitive excellence but also emphasizes mentorship, coaching clinics, and infrastructure development to support holistic growth.

Batball Maxx 2025: A Grand Debut

The inaugural Batball Maxx tournament, held from March 14 to 23, 2025, at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala, marked a significant milestone. Featuring four franchise teams—Gold, Ruby, Emerald, and Sapphire—the tournament adopted a double round-robin format, culminating in knockout matches. The event showcased a blend of local talent and international players from countries like Rwanda, Kenya, and Nigeria, providing young Ugandan cricketers with invaluable exposure.

Notable performances included Robinson Obuya's 49-run innings for Team Gold and Ronald Lutaaya's unbeaten 54 for Team Emerald, highlighting the depth of talent emerging from the Batball program.
